What the racers have said about the VHORS T-Jet Shoot-Out of 2004....

Saturday's Classics Class racing was great, but Sunday's SS team event was my favorite day of racing yet. The organization of the team event was superb. I plan on returning in 2005. ------Alan Sleeper (Team Allstars)

Wow! What an event! So many things to compliment it's hard to know where to start! It was nice to finally put a face to a couple legendary names. Henry Harnish, Jack Rutherford, Paul Graziano just to name a few. All are as cool in person as their reputation suggests. -----Greybeard

When I told my wife that I was taking part in the Shoot-Out this year, she was surprised, because I haven't exactly been present at many races. O.k. this was my first of the season. But anyway, as I was leaving for the Saturday practice day, she commented that, "it's good to see that guys can have good, clean fun". I have to applaud her comment. I too take my hat off to Kevin and the whole VHORS team for putting on such a successful event. Getting four tracks up and running for the weekend, in such a short period of time is a monumental task Congratulations to Team Fandango for their win and kudos to everyone who helped and participated. If you were there you know what I'm talking about and if you stayed home here's what you missed: 10 - Jack Rutherford's resin car deals - esp. those "limited edition" shootout 2004 ones. 9 - Watching the 2 Nostalgia Hobby Teams slug it out on 'Mercer Flats' for braggin' rights until next year. 8 - All the KC boys giving out valuable tweak tips so that we can be ready for them next year. 7 - Cheryl's meatball sandwichs - my personal favorite! 6 - Seeing a happy Brian Kaplun. 5 - Todd's facial expressions while racing - priceless! 4 - Give and take in all the bs we had with one-another. 3 - The effort put forth to get the tracks ready - they were ALL great and challenging in their own way. 2 - Racing the "classic vhors" tjet on saturday - that was phat! 1 - Kevin Chesney taking the friendly atmosphere to another level of good old fahion FUN. see ya all in 05... ------Kevin McEvoy (Team Aurora All Stars)

I know it isn't easy. If you could not...or chose not to...attend the Shoot Out this year, it was definitely your loss! Be sure to put it on your calendar for next year. You missed out on a fabulous weekend, loaded with great racing, food, and camaraderie. I had a great time would be an understatement - I might have invented some new swear words on my de-slotting - but that goes with the slow car trying to make up time on the fast car - in the old day's I didn't have that problem - but you know what what they say "the times they are'a changin'" Looking forward to the next one.
